So lets get this out of the way first: I'm freaking terrified of spiders. There is something about the little buggers that turn me into a little girl, I've no shame in admitting that.
Anyway, today I get into my car to find a massive cobweb on the dashboard that wasn't there yesterday. Obviously I'm unsettled by this, but I have somewhere important to be and I'm on my merry way.
As I'm driving, it then dawns upon me that this spider is still in the car somewhere. It's probably sitting behind the steering wheel waiting for the right moment to jump out and make me crash. This'll hike up my premiums next year. The insurance companies would love that.
Then I start to wonder, what if spiders and insurance companies are working together? They probably pay the nasty little buggers to do just that: cause arachnophobic young drivers to crash, thus having a reason to increase already extortionate premiums to line their pockets and hereby increase their profits.
Think about it: when filling the claim form, what will you write for 'cause of crash?' Will you put terrifying ninja spider? Of course not, that's absurd. You'll lie and choose a conventional excuse and the insurance company will have gotten away with it. It's just what they want.
Being the crooks that they are, I wouldn't put it past them to pull a conspiracy like that.
I bet the government is in on it too.

IT'S TRUE.
I hate spiders. One of the top paranoia I have. I don't have a clue why, except that they're weird and always hang out in unsuspecting places...

I too am terrified of spiders. I had an ex who wanted to mess with me do the following: put a rubber tarantula under my sun visor, knowing I was driving on the highway home into the sun. I almost lost it right off a bridge

Oh, look, what's this? A spider that builds a decoy of a larger spider ?
And here's a farm in Australia completely covered with spiderwebs:

I panic when I see one crawl across my dashboard! I wait until a stop sign or red light and try and kill it!

That must be it. Why else would they need more eyes and legs than a pushbike has gears??

Haha
A golden orb spider built a web inside my window overnight sometime last year. When I attempted to extricate her from the house she managed to scurry up into a hole in the window jam. To this day if I look at the hole I will sometimes see 3 legs sticking out just like in that picture (she's missing one of her front legs). Occasionally she'll come out all the way. It scares the crap out of my wife and she refuses to sit on that side of the couch. I, on the other hand, find it hilarious. I wonder how long she'll live.

Dunno, but if it were my wife, I'd tell her that particular spider is immortal.

I'm terrified of spiders. Traumatic experience when I was young, etc etc
But this last summer, there was a Black Widow living in my spare bathroom. She minded her own business. Rarely left her web in the corner (if ever) and kept the other bugs in check. We had an agreement, and it worked out well. She either moved out or passed away a few weeks ago
To be honest, I was saddened

the good news is that a modestly warm day and/or some direct sunlight + closed windows will pretty much annihilate the creepy crawlies in short time. park in the sun regularly and you will have little to fear.

I really don't mind spiders that much. I find them more intriguing than scary. Now crickets? Fuck these things. I found a MASSIVE cricket in my basement last night and just about pissed my pants. That is a cave cricket to be exact. The stuff of nightmares I tell ya.

It's Huntsman Spider season in my place at the moment. I've caught 3 in the last week, including a very large one who ran at me at speed , totally unprovoked.
I try to get them out via non lethal means, but if they do not cooperate they end up in pieces.
